Paul Marcus Wines is a friendly, sophisticated neighborhood wineshop in the Rockridge Market Hall, located in Oakland California. We carry European and domestic wines, with an emphasis on distinctive French, Italian, German, Austrian, Spanish, Eastern European, and Californian producers. We taste and personally select everything in the store in order to bring you the highest quality, most authentic, and best value wines from these regions.
Our Story
Paul Marcus Wines was founded in 1987 by Paul Marcus; Paul is of course the store’s founder and owner. Paul’s palate is as keen as his ear – before starting Paul Marcus Wines, he was a record buyer for Leopold’s in Berkeley. Since then, Paul Marcus Wines has grown to be a staple in Market Hall and the community of Rockridge. We’re always happy to share our enthusiasm for wine and food with you and help you select wines that will best match your meal (or vice versa). Whatever your budget and preferences, stop by the store and ask us to recommend some wines.
